Maguette INTERMEDIATE African

Learn traditional dance from West Africa, including Guinea, Mali and Ivory Coast from recognized West African choreographer, musician and teacher, Maguette Camara. Maguette began his career with the Ballet Bougarabou Dance Company. His extensive experience with Ballet Bougarabou Dance Company allowed him to perform and present workshops in Morocco, Canada, Senegal and the United States. In the U.S he started his teaching career as an African Dance teacher at The Djoniba Dance & Drum Centre who was a major force in pushing his teaching career. He has since taught at Alvin Ailey, Columbia University and many other prestigious organizations. He has performed in diverse and impressive venues such as the Lincoln Center Outdoor Concert Series, The Guggenheim Museum, The Rolling Stones World Tour, Epcot Center at Disney World, The World Trade Center Jazz Festival, Barnard College, Cathedral High School, and Battery Park City Parks Conservancy.
